Page 1 08/14/12

I've wanted for awhile to start a weekly webcomic, and after having a story arc in my head for about 8 months, I finally got around to drawing and scanning the pages. So, incidentally, the first four pages will be put up over the next seven days, and from there I will go to a weekly schedule until I finish the story arc.
Its a attempt at a philosophical surrealist story, and experimenting with the tropes that make up the work. In this case, the Chekov's Gun trope, as tvtropes.org calls it, will be the main focus of the nine chapters of this webcomic. I hope you enjoy it, and grant me criticism, pun not intended, on my skill or use. Also tell me if I need to experiment with the format.

And without further ado, I hand you to the adventure of Laus Chriticize, a man who doesn't know who or what he is.

Transcript:
Laus (Thought): I don't know how long I fell, or from where, but I definitely came from somewhere, I think. But waking up, especially when it seemed like the first time, was a terrifying experience.
And I fell into this strange new world with no sense of purpose.
Maybe I was a fluke? Did I belong here? What is this world of artificial structures towering over the lands? And all the souls wandering all over it? What purpose does it serve?
And such a filthy world. Does it really matter? Do I? Does anything?
And what are these on my arms? Blades? And what does "Shinigami" mean? How could I even know it says "Shinigami"? What is my purpose?
I might as well try to find out. That is purpose enough for me, I suppose.
